On Monday, two young people threw “objects” from a bridge at passing cars, thereby endangering road traffic – who can provide information about the two perpetrators?

Freiburg-Weingarten, B 31a, Betzenhauser Steg

On October 3rd, 2016 at around 5:15 p.m. the police were reported that two young people had thrown objects from a bridge onto cars.

On site it turned out: A 41-year-old driver was traveling into the city on the B 31a (Mitte feeder road) when she noticed two people throwing objects down on Betzenhauser Steg.

She avoided these objects and had to leave the road and drive across the grass verge. Luckily, swerving didn't result in a serious accident.

When she stopped shortly afterwards to inspect possible damage to the vehicle, she heard the two people on the bridge laughing and saw them throwing more objects at vehicles driving through. Shortly afterwards, the two fled on bicycles in an unknown direction.

Description

  • both male
  • approx. 16-20 years old
  • dark jackets
  • both had bicycles with them

After checking the roadway under the bridge, the objects deliberately thrown at vehicles were soggy baked goods.

Depending on the point of impact, the water-soaked food could have caused serious damage. In addition, throwing the objects in the situation described represents a significant impairment of traffic safety, as the evasive behavior caused can lead to accidents with significant consequences.

The Freiburg-Süd police station (Tel. 0761 882-4421) has taken over the investigation and is looking for witnesses who observed the incident or who can provide information about the identity of the throwers.
