At the end of June, a mother of a 12-year-old boy contacted the police. The woman was worried about her 12-year-old son, who had come into contact with other players while playing an Internet game.
The teammates were all the same age, except for one 38-year-old man. He also set up a WhatsApp group and talked to the children and young people via other portals. Among other things, he asked the 12-year-old for a photo and asked questions with a sexual background.
The police investigation revealed that it was a 38-year-old man from Würzburg. Criminal proceedings were initiated against him for sexual abuse of children. The investigation file has now been handed over to the responsible public prosecutor's office in Osnabrück.
