An alleged email from Apple attempts to trick users into entering their credit card information on a fake site. The seemingly e-mail informs you that the ID has supposedly been temporarily deactivated and that the billing details need to be confirmed first. But the data entered does not go to Apple, but rather to fraudsters.

It is this email with the subject: “Your ID has been temporarily deactivated”

What is behind the link

If you click on the link, you end up on a fake website. Even if it looks real, it is not, because the internet address (URL) shows that the site is not from Apple:

MIMIKAMA

Tip: If you are not sure whether a site is real, just try to log in with imaginary data (sometimes you have to try twice): If this works (like in our example in the screenshot), you can be sure that it is not the real site is!

As expected, the phishing scammers now want all of our data - including that of the credit card:

The fraudsters want the credit card details
The fraudsters want the credit card details

The phishing scammers can then use the data to carry out other criminal activities, from making purchases using credit cards to outright identity theft!

If you have entered your details on a fake website, the first thing to do is to inform the credit card company and block the card immediately!

Note: If you think your Apple ID has been compromised or if you have entered your password or other personal information on a scam website, change your Apple ID password immediately.
