Jork-Estebrügge - In the last two weeks there have been increasing reports of obvious fraudsters going from house to house in Jork-Estebrügge and scamming residents out of cash.

Usually in the early evening hours, a man would ring the doorbell at a residential building and say that he urgently needed to take his daughter to the hospital in Hamburg. However, he did not have the necessary cash for a taxi, so he asked the residents for one. In at least one case, he was given cash. The police assume this is a scam.

If you have noticed similar incidents or people ring your doorbell with similar concerns, do not hand over any money or let them into your home. Instead, call the police immediately, including on the police emergency number -110-. The police are available to contact you around the clock.
