Calls in the name of the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) about alleged light therapy are attempts at fraud!
The Austrian health insurance company ÖGK is currently warning against calls in which insured persons are lured with a test offer of light therapy in the name of ÖGK.
However, the ÖGK does not make any calls regarding such a campaign and is now warning against taking up this offer.
Fraudulent test offer for light therapy
These are mostly female callers who introduce themselves as employees of the Austrian Health Insurance Fund ÖGK.
During the course of the conversation, a new light therapy is offered.
The fraudsters deceive the person called into believing that they have been selected for a test offer for this form of therapy. A therapist would make a home visit to carry out the light therapy. You also receive the information that the number of offers is limited. In this way, the fraudsters probably want to entice the people they call to accept quickly and thoughtlessly.
The ÖGK does not make such calls and expressly warns against taking up this offer.

The Austrian Health Insurance Fund has now published a warning about these fraudulent calls on its official website and also on Facebook.

“These calls are a scam.
Therefore, do not respond to this and under no circumstances provide any personal information. Please also inform acquaintances and relatives about this scam and protect those around you,” warns the ÖGK.
