Have you also received a copyright infringement notice from Facebook?

Then please take a closer look to make sure it is not an attempted scam. Operators of Facebook pages repeatedly receive an email from a sender pretending to be Facebook informing them about such problems.

This email tells the user that a copyright violation has been committed on their Facebook page. You should check this post now. If you don't respond by following a link in the email, the page would remain permanently deactivated! The sender of this email reads “Facebook [email protected] ” This is the email:

Danger!

Even if there appears to be a link to Facebook in the email, DON'T be fooled! It is a fake email in bad German (with missing umlauts) sent by internet fraudsters. Behind the link in the email is a fraudulent application that claims to be Facebook but is actually a phishing form.

Who wants to lose their Facebook page?

Fraudsters work with the fear of the respective site operator, because who wants to lose their Facebook page? If you were to fill out this form, you would reveal your full name, your telephone number, your email address, your Facebook password, your birthday, etc.

Once you have done this, you will see this information:

They thank you for contacting us and they would now check it.

At the end, the user is automatically redirected to the real Facebook page. For the user, it seems as if everything was going well. But that's not the case, because within a few minutes the account can be cracked and all pages and groups for which the respective user is an admin can be taken over.

A notice:

  • Facebook NEVER sends its users emails with a link that does NOT lead directly to www.facebook.com.
  • Facebook NEVER requests personal data in this form.
  • Facebook does not send emails in English to German-speaking users, but only in German.
