Mönchengladbach – A 26-year-old Mönchengladbacher, who became unconscious due to physical weakness, was robbed in the Bunter Garten yesterday afternoon.
The man got off a bus on line 9 at the church on Bettrather Strasse around 3:25 p.m. and wanted to walk home through the Colorful Garden. He carried his Acer laptop in a bag.
In the area of the aviary and the rock garden next to it, he suddenly lost his strength and lost consciousness.
When he came to, a city gardener, who had already called for an ambulance, was looking after him.
The 26-year-old immediately missed his laptop, which, among other things, contained his bachelor's thesis. A search of the surrounding area by the helping gardener was negative.
The 26-year-old was then taken to a hospital for inpatient treatment.
Since someone obviously took advantage of the unconscious man's helplessness to steal his laptop, the police initiated criminal proceedings for failure to provide assistance and the particularly serious case of theft, a crime that is punishable by a prison sentence of between three months and 10 years.
