Barely in office, already under fire? Or was there another reason Joe Biden “ducked” when boarding Air Force One?

A screenshot has emerged on social media showing US President Joe Biden boarding Air Force One . Well, you can't really call it climbing.

This small series of images on the screenshot appears as if he is ducking. Or is it more of a stumble? The screenshot looks like it comes from the news channel CNN.

It is described with the words “Biden Dodges sniper fire boarding Air Force One”. In German, that means he had to dodge sniper fire as he tried to board Air Force One. The entire screenshot looks like this:

Fact check Biden and the sniper fire

Well, somehow you haven't heard much about sniper fire in the media. So let’s take a closer look at what this screenshot is all about. It would not be the first fake screenshot this week that is in the form of a newspaper or in this case news channel ( compare ).

In fact, there is not a single search result on Google for this headline. Well, at least not according to the literal search. Instead there are a bunch of references to something else!

Because the photos in the screenshot are absolutely real, they just have nothing to do with sniper fire. Joe Biden simply stumbled. This is proven by countless videos and news articles (see here or here ).

This stumbling may not necessarily be due to a personal inability to climb stairs, but he is apparently in very good company. He is not the first American president to stumble on the stairs while boarding Air Force One.

The fact-checking colleagues at Snopes prove this in an article . It shows that Presidents Ford and Reagan also had similar problems as Joe Biden. So to go back to the beginning: No, Joe Biden didn't have to dodge sniper fire.
