Toxic bleach as a miracle cure

A criminal case has been opened against four men in Florida for allegedly selling toxic bleach as a supposed silver bullet against the coronavirus and other diseases.
Tens of thousands of bottles of the drug are said to have brought in $500,000 in revenue in 2019 alone.

Investigations revealed that several people were taken to hospitals after drinking this drug because they experienced severe symptoms of illness. Several people died, as reported by the Washington Post .

“Miracle Mineral Solution”

Mark G. and his three sons have been selling the supposed miracle cure “MMS” / “Miracle Mineral Solution” for some time.
They touted it as a cure for diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's.

When Donald Trump said that injections of disinfectants might help against the coronavirus, Mark G. and his sons saw another possibility for their miracle cure.

“Trump has MMS and all the information!!! Things happen, people! May God help others see the truth,” Mark G. wrote on Facebook.

He and his sons are now accused of fraud and violations of food and drug laws.

Family as fake church founders

“Genesis II Church of Health and Healing” is the name of the supposed faith community founded by Mark G.

According to the public prosecutor's office, this was exclusively for his business. Mark G. himself had admitted that the church “has nothing to do with religion” but only serves to “legalize the use of MMS”. In this way he wanted to avoid having to go to prison.

FDA warns against taking MMS

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) first warned about the products in 2010.
They are known by various names including Miracle or Master Mineral Solution, Miracle Mineral Supplement, MMS, Chlorine Dioxide (CD) and Water Purification Solution (WPS). If you mix them according to the package instructions, they become a chemical that is used as a bleaching agent.

However, the FDA is not aware of any research that shows these products are safe or effective for treating any disease.
Numerous reports have been submitted to the FDA that consumers have experienced severe vomiting, severe diarrhea, life-threatening low blood pressure due to dehydration, and acute liver failure after drinking these products.

These remedies are still advertised and sold online. The FDA urges consumers not to purchase or use these!
