In Trieste, a few hundred port employees and opponents of vaccination have been protesting against the 3G requirement for a few days. Accompanied by false images on social media.
Since Friday, October 16, 2021, demonstrations have been taking place in several northern Italian ports. The reason is the introduced 3G requirement in Italy. There were protests in Ravenna, Genoa and Trieste, among others. There were several hundred port employees and vaccination opponents who tried to block the port entrances. Some trucks were blocked, but basically the blockage wasn't very big.
And that is simply the crux of the matter! These demonstrations were not particularly large. They did get some media attention (see here or here ), but they weren't big enough to really make much of an impact.
But what happens on social media when groups are simply not too big? Correct! They are accompanied by images from a foreign context. They are inflated using these foreign images and a false picture of reality is conveyed. Like in the following case:
This is the port of Trieste, Italy, now. The port workers block the goods to protest against Greenpass. This is also the case in Genova, Ancona, etc., and in dozens of cities in Italy. It is accidentally not said or minimized. Please spread the word!!! Our cities have been full of people protesting for weeks: we need the international press!
There is a picture accompanying this text that shows a very large crowd of people. We actually see a few trucks in the picture. We also see water. But does this picture really come from Italy, or more precisely from Trieste?
Fact check blockade in Trieste
No, this photo is not from the port city of Trieste. This photo has absolutely nothing to do with any blockade due to the 3G requirement in Italy. We already know this photo, it is from 2019.
This photo was also used in the summer of 2020 to falsely inflate the supposed number of Coronademo participants in Berlin ( compare ). At that time the picture was commented with the words Berlin “Germany today the great awakening has begun”. The only stupid thing is that this picture isn't from Berlin or even from Trieste.
It is not from 2021 or 2020, but from 2019 and was taken in Zurich. It is a picture of the so-called street parade. This is a music parade that has been held regularly in Zurich in recent years (except for 2021 and 2020). You can find the proof for this photo and the correct context .
