They come to Europe in masses from Africa. Across the Mediterranean. Your destination: Germany! But first they land in Italy, where they populate Italy.

This refers to refugees from Africa who come by boat across the Mediterranean. Italian blogs are currently stoking fears about a large number of refugees wanting to go to Europe.

These blogs have also chosen another enemy for themselves: Germany! We have already written elsewhere that various Italian blogs do not shy away from false reports (see here and here ).

Yesterday, Monday, September 2nd, 2019, the Italian fact checkers from “Bufale e Fake News” drew our attention to the following graphic, which, in addition to the Italian description, also shows a German text:

What is meant here is that refugees leave Africa for Italy to travel to Germany. From an Italian perspective, this is of course a problem, as these refugees would therefore have to register in Italy and would therefore also have to stay in Italy in accordance with the Dublin III Agreement.

The graphic shown above is used in an appropriate EU-critical context (see here or here ). They come… and all by boat.

All apparently in ONE boat

In order to give the whole thing a certain drama, an image editing program was used. Of course we don't know what that was. But one boat was probably not enough for the makers of the graphic shown above, so they turned one boat into an entire armada of boats.

It's just stupid when you can see it so easily. Even worse if this picture of the boat isn't current at all, but is already over three years old!

In fact, this image was used more frequently in November 2016. The two oldest media sources found online are The Press and the Daily Mail . This shows that the image currently used is a manipulated representation of the original image and that the individual boat has been copied into the image multiple times.
