The driver got out and drove away the unknown man, who fled in a BMW with other passengers. When he looked into his car, the driver finally noticed that his wife's purse containing phones, cash and personal documents was gone.
The day before, the driver of a semi-trailer truck had a similar experience at the same rest area.
While he was taking a break, he was approached by an unknown person. The man allegedly wanted to show the driver any damage to the semi-trailer. The driver then got out and went behind the trailer with the informant. During this time, another unknown person must have entered the unlocked driver's cab of the tractor-trailer and stolen cash from the wallet. The truck driver only noticed the theft after the perpetrators had left.
How can you protect yourself from this?
