The fraudsters' scam is not new: They post fake offers with alleged tickets for the Bundesliga game between BVB and FSV Mainz on Saturday, May 27th, 2023, on common online portals (often “classifieds”). After the first contact, the fraudsters want to get to the point quickly and request a transfer via the PayPal “Friends and Family” function.
They do this because the buyer then has no buyer protection and it is very difficult or even impossible to get hold of the money afterwards. After the transfer to the fraudster's PayPal account, the buyers then wait in vain for the cards, and then the ads including the accounts usually disappear.
Only buy from the official ticket shop!
The Dortmund police therefore advise only using Borussia Dortmund's official secondary ticket market.
A final note from the police: Please keep in mind that before such a highly anticipated football game, probably 99.9 percent of buyers will no longer want to hand over their ticket - and that these people, if at all, are more likely to do so within their own family or Find a buyer in your circle of friends.
Despite all the longing to be able to experience the possible championship celebration live in the stadium: save yourself the hassle and the large amount of money you will lose if you fall for fraudsters and look for an alternative instead.
