An impressive video can be found on social media, but the supposedly spontaneous tornado was not created by nature, but on a PC.

Apparently this video was recorded in Tripoli, the capital of Libya: a spontaneously forming tornado, recorded with a shaky smartphone camera.
It is shared on Facebook , Twitter , TikTok and Instagram .

In the nine-second video, you can see a massive amount of water falling from the clouds and starting to swirl.

Impressive, but not real!

The original video, which is 23 seconds long and was not filmed in smartphone portrait format, has been on YouTube since December 2018:

Not only was the video not made in Libya “this morning” as many posts claim (but in Jersey), it is also not real: CGI simulation is already in the title of the video.

The description of the video also states that the video was recorded with a Nikon D7200 SLR camera and post-processed with Adobe After Effects and Maxon Cinema 4D .

On the YouTuber's channel "orphicframer" (see HERE ) you can find even more impressive CGI videos that are well worth seeing. He even shows how the tornado CGI video was created on Instagram (see HERE
