Climate protectors want to save CO₂, especially in road traffic. But container ships do not cause much higher emissions than transport by truck.

Global shipping traffic – including passenger shipping – was responsible for around 2.9 percent of all man-made CO₂ in 2018. The share has therefore increased slightly compared to 2012 - because world trade also increased during this time.

However, it is better for the climate to transport goods over long distances by ship rather than by truck. A container ship emits 17 grams of CO₂ per ton and kilometer transported, while a truck emits 68 grams.

In the EU, for example, road transport emits more than five times as much CO₂ as shipping. More could be achieved in terms of climate protection more quickly by road than by ship.

But shipping also needs to become cleaner. Many ships run on heavy fuel oil and emit not only greenhouse gases, but also health-threatening sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter.

It is claimed online that the number of coronavirus deaths in Scotland rose in July and that the majority of those were vaccinated. This is intended to prove the ineffectiveness of the vaccinations. Is that correct?
Do the numbers of corona deaths in Scotland show that the vaccinations are not working?
