Second attack on a key national computer network in recent days. Following the US's largest fuel pipeline, Ireland's health service was the target of a "significant ransomware attack".
The Irish Health Service has been the target of a cyber attack. It announced on Twitter that it had shut down its own IT systems as a precaution after a “significant ransomware attack”. However, corona vaccinations are not affected by the failure and should be able to take place as planned. It was also said that the situation would be examined.
There is a significant ransomware attack on the HSE IT systems. We have taken the precaution of shutting down all our IT systems in order to protect them from this attack and to allow us to fully assess the situation with our own security partners.
