A new desktop application, FakeApp, created by Reddit user Deepfakes , allows you to create deceptively real-looking fake videos of other people's faces using face-swap videos created by neural networks to produce people.
Users mainly use the app to create porn and thus annoy celebrities.
AI changes still images
Face-swapping videos are not new, but the algorithm designed by deepfakes, which uses machine learning, works so intelligently that the fakes can hardly be distinguished from real videos. On the developer's Reddit page, which was created two months ago, around 17,000 followers are now involved in generating the mainly revealing fake videos. The software is based on face swapping algorithms. A deep neural network is trained to identify a person's face in a still image and then swap it with another face.
