"I can not take it anymore"

If you follow the link, you will end up on the WELT.de website. Here again you get to read a long article with the title: “I can’t stand it anymore”.

SPONSORED AD

This starts with:

A woman from Hamburg works in an initial reception center for refugees. The mid-30-year-old talks about how she experiences everyday life there - and why she is now thinking about quitting. A protocol

The refugee crisis is getting worse. The situation in the Hamburg accommodations is also apparently extremely difficult - in the “Welt am Sonntag” an employee reports anonymously* about her everyday life.

“Since autumn 2015, I have been working full-time and permanently in an initial reception center for refugees in Hamburg. I had specifically applied for this job; it was exactly what I wanted to do. When I finally received the confirmation in my mailbox, I was incredibly happy about it; I was finally able to not only help in theory, but also actually do something practically for the refugees.

We were asked for an opinion!

We are happy to comply and can provide our opinions and those of other users here

  1. This is a subjective report from an employee.
  2. The cases that do not cause any problems do not end up with this woman and are therefore of no importance.
But if you were to include them, then they would really be isolated cases.
  3. The article sounds realistic and understandable.
She simply had a completely different idea of what to expect there. It is well known that women have a different status in Arab cultures.
For us we see it as “inferior”, for them the values of a woman simply lie somewhere else. Can we really understand the values of other cultures (other than Arabic)?
Certainly not. There are various reasons why some refugees react aggressively. They can't understand why a woman would then make “rules” to them. They are given a false image of Germany, which then “lures them here”. The disappointment is of course even greater. I hope it won't be taken to mean that I'm defending their behavior! I'm more interested in explaining it in a comprehensible way. There is somehow still a lack of communication and information. This repeatedly leads to escalation among the refugees and sometimes also with the employees.
  4. What else should you consider with this report? The majority of refugees who never demand anything or need any clarification will never end up with this woman. However, all those who unjustifiably demand anything will inevitably come to her at some point. What I mean by this is that from the perspective of this job, the image of refugees is inevitably presented somewhat distorted. It's like a police officer saying, "90% of all people I interact with every day are criminals." But to conclude from this that 90% of all people are criminals would be wrong!
  5. The report cannot be described as FAKE because it is an individual experience.
