Dear Facebook users! Don't be sad if you might NOT WIN ANYTHING from the Don't Be Sad Facebook page. You're almost certainly being made fun of.

So that you know which sides we are talking about. Here is a current screenshot of the page:

There is only ONE status post on this page and this is a “competition”. Apparently you can pick up 4 Samsung Galaxy S7s here.

Literally:

You can win these 4 Samsung Galaxy S7s worth 759.99 euros!
1 Press I like and you'll be added to our lottery pot!
2 Anyone who shares the post has a double chance!
3 Our page must be marked like!
4 commented with I want!
• Facebook has nothing to do with the competition
• Facebook is not available as a contact person for competitions

Here users are lied to and cheated every step of the way! Who is the organizer? Who is giving away such prizes here?

One does not know. The “About” of the page was not filled with information:

Another dubious competition!

How do you as a user recognize competitions that are not serious?

For example, if you can't find any contact options or an imprint, you should pay attention. You should also always make sure that there are conditions of participation that show who is allowed to take part (age restrictions, country restrictions, etc.).

Such prizes are usually posted hourly on dubious competition sites. Reputable companies create competitions every now and then, but certainly not every hour.

Let's proceed selectively:

Owner of the site: Not available
Imprint: Not available
Contact option: Not available
Conditions of participation: Not available
Exemption from Facebook: Not available and
The prizes that users can win are always very high-quality and expensive prizes!

These competition pages always follow the same pattern: like, share, comment.

These are the three interactions with which a page achieves the most reach on Facebook without having to place paid advertising on Facebook. Of course there are competition guidelines issued by Facebook, but the creators of such pages are of little or no interest in these and Facebook itself does not react here either. There isn't even a separate reporting function/option that a user could use for this. From a legal point of view, these competitions do not run correctly either, as there are no conditions of participation, contact information or legal notice.

It's all nonsense - we say, but we're happy to be proven wrong!

Reason:

  1. no imprint. Who are we dealing with here?
  2. no terms of use or no conditions of participation. Who is actually allowed to take part in a competition here? (location, age, etc.)
  3. Announcement of the winner. Where and how is a user contacted?
  4. Where is the notice that the competitions are not connected to Facebook?

Cheap and illegal tricks!

Such competitions, in which you have to share the post in order to win, are very cheap and illegal tricks to win more fans for your page.
In 99.9% of cases, as we have described above, there is no real profit behind it!

Dear friends of brass music! Stop making fun of Facebook users!

Especially for you, the competition guidelines on Facebook!
