Be careful with invoices from “DE Deutsche Domain” and “Austria Domain Hosting”

For weeks, numerous Internet users have been receiving supposed invoices from “DE Deutsche Domain” and “Austria Domain Hosting” by email. You have to pay 149.00 euros for a domain registration that has NEVER been ordered. In reality, it is an attempted scam! The emails, which are all designed the same, look like this:

In this invoice, the user is asked to pay EUR 188. The transfer should be made to a Spanish account, even though the internet user never ordered a domain.

We took a closer look at the invoice and discovered that it was actually an offer and not an invoice. If the user pays the invoice, he automatically accepts the offer.

At the end of the invoice you will find the small print and it says: (1:1 copy of the text)

We would like to inform you that in the future you will only receive our invoice in digital format. You also have the option of changing your company's data both before and after receiving our invoice by informing us of your changed customer data by email, stating your customer number and invoice number. Based on the aforementioned offer, which will form the basis of the invoice if accepted by you, we will carry out the following services for you: the registration of the domain extension .eu or .info, which will be added to your current domain name. If you agree to the above, your domain registration will be valid for the above period. Please pay attention to this. This is an offer and not an invoice. Payment in response to this offer is understood as acceptance of the offer or order confirmation. In the event of non-payment, this registration will be invalid and the domain addition will be available to third parties.

Not only Germany but also Austria is affected!
