On April 19, 2016 (Tuesday), between 9:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., a pickpocketing occurred in a Bochum bar at Kortumstrasse 2 to 14 in the city center.
The man pictured in the photo sat alone at a group of tables and, at an opportune moment, appeared to be fumbling for his own jacket, which was hanging over the back of a chair behind him. However, he specifically grabbed the jacket of the guest sitting behind him and stole cash from his wallet.
The criminal sat at different groups of tables that evening, each with his back to the other guests, who were chatting and therefore distracted. It is not yet clear whether he was able to steal more loot with this brazen “pickpocket scam”.
The thief was filmed during the crime by a surveillance camera.
