A few weeks ago, the Munich II public prosecutor's office opened an investigation into forgery of documents committed by gangs and on a commercial basis. The EG Wappen of the Erding criminal police was commissioned with the specific investigations against currently 16 suspects who can be assigned to the so-called Reich Citizens' Movement.

There is a strong suspicion that seven of the suspects are acting as representatives of a self-proclaimed “State of Bavaria”; The other suspects are sympathizers and purchasers of “documents”. The aim is to create a “German Empire”, whereby the existence of the Federal Republic of Germany is not recognized. The accused, aged between 40 and 62, including two women, have been keeping offices and public bodies busy for some time now with faxes and objections to seizure or fine notices, as well as letters in which they express their crude legal views and themselves make claims against the authorities concerned . The content often corresponds to the offense of attempted blackmail, attempted coercion and usurpation of office. The investigators' findings so far also provided evidence for the establishment of a financial administration and a trade office. “Citizenship cards”, “driving licenses”, “trade licenses” and “official photo ID cards” were issued and sold for a fee.

The search operation at 15 residential and business premises of the accused, coordinated by the Munich II public prosecutor's office and carried out this morning under the leadership of KPI Erding by around 250 emergency services, served to find further information and to secure or confiscate evidence. The search objects were in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate. The Erding criminal police was supported in the implementation by detectives from the responsible criminal police inspections.

Based on the current threat assessment of the Reich Citizens' Movement, it must be assumed that supporters will vigorously defend their ideology using violence. Therefore, the search of individual objects was carried out with the support of special units.
