At the beginning of October, a fascinating display of colors could be seen in the evening sky of California, apparently caused by a flying object.

Normally there are only a few witnesses when observing UFOs (unidentified flying objects), but thousands watched this spectacle, and even more Facebook users were interested in that video :

So what happened in Bakersfield?

Americans should actually be used to this sight by now, even if it looked particularly unusual this time: Are the aliens there asking for the password for the WiFi?

But the event is not as extraterrestrial as many users assume:
it was the launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, SAOCOM 1A at 7:21 p.m. local time on the night of October 7, 2018 Vandenberg Air Force Base into Earth orbit.

The impressive cloud, which seems to glow in different colors, is explained by the setting sun that illuminates the spectacle, not burning gases, as some users suspected.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti also informed his citizens in a tweet that these were definitely not aliens:

And the supposed WiFi signal?
These are pulses from the small first stage reaction control engines. These engines, which put Falcon 9 on the course, have been used many times before, but for the first time on the west coast of the USA, where residents only knew the unusual sight from TV or the Internet.

Here you can watch the start again in fast motion:

Conclusion

The launches of the Facon 9 rockets are often mistaken for UFOs, and we have already on them several times . And this time too, the supposed alien spectacle is purely earthly in nature.

Oh yes, one more thing...

While many users watched the video on Facebook, most people may not have noticed the creepy detail in the video 😉
