The 46-year-old first responder was traveling on Autobahn 33 on Monday evening when he observed at the Paderborn-Sennelager junction that a livestock truck had driven into a center guardrail. As a result, he got out of his vehicle, made the emergency call and went to the van to help the driver.
After the man was able to free the driver from the cab with other helpers, he got back into his own car. There, however, he discovered that items worth around 4,000 to 5,000 euros were stolen during his relief mission - including high-quality camera equipment. The 46-year-old filed a complaint, police spokesman Fabian Rickel reported. “It’s not just a crime. It's also sad that someone who shows moral courage is robbed at the scene of the accident." He has never experienced anything like that, says Rickel.
