Some things make you think that they will disappear from the scene at some point. For others one hopes so. Like this type of “chain letter” that describes how you could control the Facebook algorithm yourself.

“I think it's actually true, because I also noticed that the 'likes' always come from the same people 🤔🤨.
Fixed my blocked messages….

wanted to know where all my “friends” were? Sad to have a lot of “friends” and only about 50-60 are allowed to see my messages. I ignored this post earlier because I thought it didn't work... BUT it does!
I have a new news feed. I look at posts from people I haven't seen in a long time. AND Here's how you can get around the system... Facebook has to limit posts in your News Feed.

Its algorithm selects the same people, around 25 read your posts.
So: to change that, press your finger anywhere in this post. Click on "Copy", then go to your page, where it says: "What are you doing?", a white page will open, go to this page with the mouse and click on "Paste" and this text will appear on yours Wall. This “regulates” the system. If you read this message, do me a favor and leave me a quick comment: a “hello”, a sticker or something as a comment so that it appears in my news feed. Not just a 'like', you have to write at least a 'Hello' so that I know how many people have read the text. Your turn. Thank you"

Post in plain text (sic!)

Incomprehensible and illogical. Why shouldn't a like be enough? You could also tell from this how many people have seen the post. But well, that's not important either. We want to know whether the algorithm actually works in such a way that you can “repair” it yourself.

The Facebook algorithm

Nobody really knows exactly how the content we see is controlled. This is probably one of the best-kept secrets on social networks, and therefore probably cannot be explained in a three-liner.

Facebook itself once explained Washington Post

“We organize the news feed based on which posting might be relevant to the user. Although we have made some adjustments that may increase the number of visible posts from friends, the News Feed is not limited to 25 contacts.”

“We will predict which posts you might want to interact with your friends about, and show these posts higher in feed. These are posts that inspire back-and-forth discussion in the comments and posts that you might want to share and react to — whether that's a post from a friend seeking advice, a friend asking for recommendations for a trip, or a news article or video prompting lots of discussion.”

Is this posting of any use?

No it does not. Except that you may now see this status everywhere again for a while because a few users will think “Well, I’ll post it, if it doesn’t help, it didn’t do any harm…”

This text is also a mutated version that already existed as a “long version” ( see here ), although this was also a fake, but was still shared with enthusiasm. And we will probably meet him more often, whether longer or shorter.
