As announced, Facebook wants to let its users decide for themselves via survey which pages are trustworthy and which are not

As BuzzFeedNews reports, Facebook announced last week that the company would like to give its users priority on showing links to news sites that they consider trustworthy. ( We reported .)

Now it turns out that this survey consists of exactly two questions, which are not particularly extensive.

So Facebook simply asks:

Do you know the following websites?

  • Yes
  • No

How much trust do you have in these domains?

  • fully
  • much
  • something
  • barely
  • not at all

According to BuzzFeedNews, a spokesperson for the company confirmed that it is the only version of the survey and that the questions were developed by the company itself and no outsiders were involved.

In the past, Facebook has often found itself in the crossfire for enabling manipulation of the US elections and also for promoting the spread of fake news.

The social media giant now has to deal with the accusation of whether it is wise to decide whether a news site is trustworthy or not based on user opinions.
