Last weekend (February 23rd to 24th, 2017) the alarm bells rang for many Facebook and Google users!

The reason for this was that they were notified that they had been logged out of their accounts for security reasons.

Yes, even Internet giants like Facebook, Google, Twitter and Co make mistakes that understandably cause uproar on the Internet. Especially when, out of nowhere, you were automatically logged out of your account for security reasons.

Numerous accounts were unintentionally logged out, as can be seen from the example of Google and Facebook:

Have accounts been cracked?

Many users had this worry and fear over the weekend.

Google announced on Twitter that they were aware of the issue and said the security of the accounts was not compromised.

According to Google, the reason was a router failure (in the USA) and was accidentally reset to the factory settings. However, everything was restored using various backups.

We here in German-speaking countries only noticed this problem in passing through the aforementioned logout.

But Facebook also had problems!

Many users received this or similar information:

A few hours later, Facebook users also complained about various problems. Users were logged out without warning – and without taking any action of their own.

Also issued in this form:

You can't say what the reason was on Facebook. We read on the website www.inside-handy.de that it was supposedly a technical error and that there was no reason to worry. However, we didn't find any information about it on Facebook.

Some users suspect that Facebook has carried out a check for 2. profiles here. But here too there is no confirmation of this.
