[Guest post by Christopher Nickel, a ZDDK user]: New buttons are currently appearing on Facebook that are marked with the "Add to Account" link. Posts with this link are actually the same thing as "Prank went wrong and woman dies", "Justin Bieber gets beaten up by photographer" and so on. So don't fall for it ;). What are the intentions of postings with links like “Add to account” or similar? It's simple: likes, subscribers or money. On applications (to which the link leads) you have to like a page or subscribe to someone like you know like people. Advertising is also displayed.

Don't you believe me? I tested it for you:

Below in the picture you can see the "Add to Account Link" just to show what it looks like.

If you click on this link you will be redirected to an application (see image below). The content will only be displayed once you have clicked Like.

Once you have liked the page, Facebook will ask you if the application can post under your name:

Why does the application want to post under my name?

Very simple: so that your friends can see it! They will also like the page and then the application will also post on their name.

And what do you have in the end?

Nothing, it's just that you're getting spammed by posts from the page you've liked.

If you fell for this fake, unlike the page at the beginning, delete the post with "Add to Account" on your wall, go to Account Settings > Applications and remove the application!

Also warn your friends about this fake so that they don't fall for it! 🙂
