Facebook has a new logo and changes its spelling. And in different colors.

What do you do in times when there is still a data scandal hanging over you and criticism is loud because you cooperate with Breitbart? That's right, you change your logo. And that's what Facebook did on November 4, 2019.

Now we have a logo that is reflected in three color nuances. Once in the blue spectrum, in the green and at the end also reddish. These three spectrums are intended to reflect the group's three major platforms, namely Facebook (blue), WhatsApp (green) and Instagram (red).

So we are dealing with a logo that stands out from the classic platform and, as a “mother logo”, is intended to show that Insta and WhatsApp also belong to the group.

FACEBOOK spelling also changed

It's not just the colors that make up the logo. The typesetting is also different. They have switched to clear capital letters, which is somewhat reminiscent of the Google lettering.

Today we're updating our company logo to more clearly see which products come from Facebook.

We're introducing a new corporate logo and further differentiating the Facebook business from the Facebook app, which will retain its own branding. – Antonio Lucio , Chief Marketing Officer

In the future, the new name will also appear on the login pages and in the settings of Instagram and WhatsApp. According to Chief Marketing Officer Antonio Lucio, only 29% of Americans know that WhatsApp and Instagram belong to the FB Group. The new logo is intended to make more people know about it.

FB cooperates with Breitbart:

With the News tab, a new news service is launching, initially in the USA. To do this, Facebook brings several media partners on board and pays for their content. The aim is to be able to provide a “news tab” with high-quality content. In addition to a number of regional daily newspapers and other large media outlets such as USA Today and The Wall Street Journal, Breitbart is also among the partners.

Breitbart is a right-wing populist portal and was founded by Andrew Breitbart. After his death, Steve Bannon expanded it into a platform for “white nationalists.” Breitbart has repeatedly been accused of incorrect reporting and incitement against immigrants and black people.
