Just yesterday we reported on the competition on the Facebook page: Volvo XC60 – 4×4 . A short time later, the alleged competition was deleted by the creator!

Where did it disappear to?

It seems as if the creator has published another page on Facebook, but this time under the name: XC60.Volvo-4×4-Sport.Edition 2016

But that doesn't make it any better, because here too you can find the same dubious competition as on the previous page:

We have a competition here that was NOT created by VOLVO. It is impossible to say who is behind this campaign, because the “info” that was actually provided for the legal notice and contact details is empty:

These competition pages always follow the same pattern: like, share, comment.

These are the three interactions with which a page achieves the most reach on Facebook without having to place paid advertising on Facebook. Of course there are competition guidelines issued by Facebook, but the creators of such pages are of little or no interest in these and Facebook itself does not react here either. There isn't even a separate reporting function/option that a user could use for this. From a legal point of view, these competitions do not run correctly either, as there are no conditions of participation, contact information or legal notice.

It's all nonsense - we say, but we're happy to be proven wrong!

Reason:

  1. no imprint. Who are we dealing with here?
  2. no terms of use or no conditions of participation. Who is actually allowed to take part in a competition here? (location, age, etc.)
  3. Announcement of the winner. Where and how is a user contacted?
  4. Where is the notice that the competitions are not connected to Facebook?

Cheap and illegal tricks!

Such competitions, in which you have to share the post in order to win, are very cheap and illegal tricks to win more fans for your page.
In 99.9% of cases, as we have described above, there is no real profit behind it!
