The search for the fugitive suspect Marcel Heße continues at full speed. This afternoon the police will once again increase their presence in the Herne area.
The aim of the police is to obtain information about the possible whereabouts of the perpetrator through a strong presence on site - including with the involvement of riot police.
For this reason, the police have created leaflets and posters to search for the suspected perpetrator, which are being distributed in Herne.
In their investigations, the officers are currently receiving a high level of support from tips from the public. We thank you for that. As of 4 p.m., the police have received over 1,416 and are evaluating them at high speed!

Yesterday evening a person was photographed at Mönchengladbach main train station, who was said to be Heße, who was wanted in connection with the murder in Herne. The police immediately initiated searches and investigations.
-This person is NOT the WANTED one!-
In the meantime, a 16-year-old reported to the police who recognized himself in the photo.
He stated that he was there at the time but had nothing to do with the person being sought.
After subsequent investigations and identification measures, the police have now confirmed that the person in the photo in question is definitely the 16-year-old and not the wanted suspect from Herne.
The search and investigative measures following the homicide are still in full swing. However, according to the current state of the investigation, the police have no concrete evidence that the Hessian they are looking for is in Mönchengladbach or has stayed there.
The following still applies: anyone who believes they have recently seen the suspect or can provide information about his whereabouts should immediately dial 110 and report the observation.
