imageAs with previous fake events, such as The first 600,000 participants get a free Facebook mug!, or The first 200,000 participants get this T-shirt or The first 500,000 participants get a free Facebook sweater! , Facebook users are now being misled with a “free Apple IPad2”. The aim of this fake event is to generate new fans for a fan page or to collect user data in order to then probably spam users. We have described what the event and the related pages look like in this article.

This is what the fake event looks like

As with previous events, users must...

…“Participate” as well as the “Share” event and invite at least 120 of your friends! Then you have to become a fan of a fan page that doesn’t even have anything to do with an Apple IPad2! Last but not least, you have to fill out a competition form which was stored on an external domain. This domain has already been rated negatively by WOT users!

Point 4 refers to a fan page that has nothing to do with an AppleIPad2!

(You can see on the pin board that references are made to other fake events!

If you now follow the advice from point 5 (form)…

You get to an external website where WOT immediately issues a warning.

Whether you can really win an IPad2 here is something we'll leave open for now! What we definitely object to is the way users are enticed to take part in such competitions!
