We can no longer tell how many “iPhone” and “Apple” fake pages are floating around on Facebook.
Every day there is a different storage room that needs to be cleared out and the same game over and over again: 1) Like, 2) Share, 3) Comment and, best of all, fall into some kind of subscription trap. Far and wide there is no indication in the form of an imprint as to who owns the page, but Facebook users do everything just fine. As with the page below. This is called “iPhone5 Fans”. Here you have to follow 4 steps to get “wrongly packaged iPhones”. It's all nonsense... It's unlikely how many “incorrectly packaged cell phones” there are now

This is what this page is about at the moment (August 15, 2013)

What immediately catches the eye here is:
1) no information text (except “remaining stocks”)
2) no imprint

Including the following status post:

Here is the status post again in text form:

Warehouse clearance!
Due to the incorrect packaging of the iPhone 5, they can no longer be sold.
For this reason we are doing a raffle for all Facebook fans!

Step 1. Press “Like” Apple Store Germany
Step 2. “Like” this photo
Step 3. “Share” this photo
Step 4. Comment whether “black” or “white”

The lucky winners will be broadcast and notified on our fan page on August 16, 2013.
We wish you all much success!

Our information about this:

1) With point 1, you should immediately become a fan of the “Apple Store Germany” site, which is not an official site!

2) At the end it says: “Get notified here: URL”

If you follow this link you will end up on this page:

If you click on the logo here, another page will open. You then have to enter your cell phone number here!

We assume that these pages can change from time to time or that other pages can also appear here!

Based on our experience, this page is just “Like-awesome” and nothing else, that’s what we can say!

There are also some violations:

The “competition” itself violates the following points:

Violation 1: The competition is published directly as a status post and not in its own APP (site application)
ZDDK: Competitions are only permitted in applications.
These are located as a separate TAB under the cover photo. A separate app is an element (usually a website that appears on Facebook, but is not on a Facebook server).
Facebook: Promotions on Facebook are to be organized as part of the applications on facebook.com, either on a canvas page or in a Page application.

Violation 2: There are no conditions of participation
ZDDK: Conditions of participation with an integrated exemption from Facebook and the disclosure of the data recipient are absolutely necessary.

Violation 3: There is no indication that this competition/promotion is NOT connected to Facebook and is in no way sponsored, supported or organized by Facebook.

Violation 4: A prize will be raffled among ALL fans without the need to register via a competition form IN ONE APP.
ZDDK: See violation 2. There must be a separate competition form, which is located as a separate APP (own TAB under the cover photo).
No further contact information is requested here, such as an address, a telephone number or at least an email address, but these are a prerequisite for a competition.

Violation 5: The winners will be notified via the fan page or by private message.
ZDDK: Winning notifications via various Facebook communication elements such as status posts / private messages / chat are not permitted.
Winners must be notified by post, email or telephone.
Facebook: You may not notify winners via Facebook, such as: B. via Facebook messages, chat or posts in profiles (chronicles) or on Facebook pages

Violation 6: Social interactions are required.
ZDDK: In this case, users MUST “SHARE” and “COMMENT”, both of which are NOT permitted for a competition.
Facebook: You are not allowed to use Facebook functions - such as: B. the “Like” button – to vote on a promotion.

Violation 7: There is no privacy policy

Violation 8: There is no contact option available to Facebook users (legal notice / contact / competition operator)

How can you recognize a “fake competition” or “fake pages”?

►Imprint available?
Companies have an imprint in 90% of cases!
If that's not the case, then it could be an oversight on the part of the admin, but it doesn't mean anything.
When we check pages with “ click without hesitation ”, this is the point that is always forgotten!

►Information area under the profile image!
Is the information area filled with meaningful text or does it just say “Like and win”?
If the information area is meaningful, then this point is OK! If this is not the case, then please be careful!

►Facebook page age and number of fans!
If a “page” is only a few hours/days old and quickly has a few thousand fans, then please be careful!
Also watch the comments from other users! If these are negative, then stay away from the site/the competition!

►A well-known company?
►A well-known brand?
Even if it seems that the brand is well-known, first look at the official website of this company and search for the “Facebook link” and then compare the Facebook pages with each other.
