Link leads to downloading a dangerous app!

If you follow the link, you will be asked to download a “voicemail app.” The criminals claim that the voice message is only in a high-quality format, therefore this app is necessary.

The criminals want you to believe that you are on a T-Mobile site. But if you check the web address (URL), you will see that it has nothing to do with the mobile operator.

Under no circumstances should you download apps from external sources! This could be dangerous malware that causes great damage. Depending on what type of malware is installed, the app may access your data (e.g. access data, including passwords) or the criminals may gain access to your system. This can result in high costs for you. Those affected report that expensive SMS messages were sent after installing such an app.

How to recognize that it is a fake SMS!

  • Do you receive a text message with a strange link from an unknown number? This is an alarm signal!
  • The web address has nothing to do with your mobile provider and is unknown to you (such as framebridfe.com)? If you also need to download an app or enter data, close the page again and delete the SMS!
  • Last but not least, you should also ask yourself whether the SMS makes any sense at all. When you receive a voice message, you will usually be asked to call your voicemail and listen to the message there. A text message asking you to download an app is highly dubious!

Have you installed the app?

If you just clicked the link and didn't download an app, you don't have to worry. Nothing happened.

However, once you have installed the app, you should act quickly:

  • Reset your device to factory settings. Your data will be lost if you have not backed it up regularly. However, this is the only way to be absolutely sure that the malware has been removed.
  • Additionally, you should change any passwords that are stored on your device or that you have entered.
  • If you incurred costs as a result of installing the malware, you should try to get the money back. To do this, contact your mobile phone provider and describe your situation.
