You can see anything in cloud shapes: trees, people, animals... or the apocalypse!

A certain image of a cloud formation has been floating around in relevant forums and groups for several years now:
Ghostly riders seem to be seen in the sky, also referred to by many as the biblical riders of the apocalypse.

As our colleagues at Snopes report, the photo is said to have been taken in Nilai, Malaysia in 2009 and is to be understood as a sign from God that the world is changing for the worse.

The original source

In fact, the entire photo has existed since 2004, which makes the claim crumble a bit. But it becomes clearest when you look at the complete picture:

The “Kenwood DDX-7025” navigation system has been around since March 2004 , at which time the above advertisement also appeared.

From the text of the ad it is also clear that the clouds are not intended to represent the horsemen of the apocalypse:

“So you always know where you are. Even if you’re riding with the Valkyries, back to Valhalla.”

In German: “ So that you always know where you are.” Even if you ride back to Valhalla with the Valkyries .

Summary

The supposedly real photo is just an excerpt from a (manipulated, of course) advertisement that shows the Ride of the Valkyries in a cloud formation to illustrate the effectiveness of a navigation system.

Back then, such a navigation system cost an impressive 1,699 euros, and Kenwood certainly didn't think that their ad would still be used as evidence in paranormal forums and groups 15 years later.
