For a few days now, there have been repeated warnings on Facebook and Co about fake DHL employees who threatened a mother with two children.

The Bremen police have published the following information:

Family attacked in apartment

Location: Bremen-Gröpelingen,
Waltjenstraße Time: February 1, 2018, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m

Two fake DHL employees gained access to an apartment in the Gröpelingen district of Bremen on Thursday. They threatened the mother and her two children and stole jewelry and cash.

The men wearing DHL jackets broke into the 37-year-old's apartment on Waltjenstrasse around 11 a.m. Under the threat of harming the two 17-month-old and four-year-old children, the robbers asked the mother to give them jewelry.

A perpetrator grabbed the 37-year-old woman and walked with her from Waltjenstrasse to Gröpelinger Heerstrasse. Meanwhile, his accomplice kept the children in the apartment. While the robber waited in front of a Deutsche Bank branch, the 37-year-old had to withdraw cash with her debit card and hand it to him. Then they went back. The family was locked in the bedroom and the perpetrators fled undetected. The husband finally freed his wife and two children an hour later.

The police ask: Who made suspicious observations on Waltjenstrasse or at the Deutsche Bank branch on Gröpelinger Heerstrasse and can provide information about the perpetrators?

The robbers are said to have worn yellow and red DHL jackets. One of the men wore a blue and red cap, spoke mostly Arabic and was noticeably short at around 165 centimeters. He had a dark complexion and was estimated to be around 40 years old. His accomplice spoke fluent German and is said to be around 30 years old and 185 centimeters tall. He had brown hair and an unkempt three-day beard.

The criminal investigation service will accept information on (0421) 3623888.
