Fürth – The Nuremberg police have identified three suspects who, according to the current investigation, appeared to be false craftsmen in September 2016. They are said to have caused financial damage amounting to several thousand euros.

The trio (two men and a woman) spoke to an elderly woman in the Fürth district and offered to tear down her old garden fence and install a new one. The woman agreed to the skilfully conducted negotiations and the subsequently negotiated price and gave the “experts” the corresponding order.
In the course of the work carried out, it was quickly realized that the garden fence had firstly been installed incompletely and secondly, unprofessionally. In addition, a suspect stole a four-digit euro amount of cash while she was on the woman's property. The injured party immediately filed a report.
Extensive investigations by the Nuremberg commissioner's office recently led to the discovery of the suspects. An investigation was initiated against her on suspicion of benefit fraud. When asked about the facts of the case, the accused (23, 26 and 47 years old) referred to their lawyer.

The criminal police warn!

In this context, the criminal police are again warning of the appearance of migrant workers or alleged specialist companies who ring the doorbell without being asked and supposedly want to carry out professional work on the “damaged” house.
Therefore, reject any offers from migrant workers who offer you spontaneous construction work on your property (particularly roofing and paving work, but also garden design or facade cleaning).
Work that is actually started immediately only serves as a deception and is not completed. Never pay money in advance! If, despite all caution and suspicion, you have fallen victim to such fraudulent tradesmen, do not hesitate to contact the police immediately.
If possible, write down the tradesmen's vehicle registration numbers. Report the matter immediately. This is the only way the police can – as in this case – identify the perpetrators and put a stop to them.
