Someone is calling 110? – Then they are fraudsters!

As the NRW Krefeld police reported on Facebook, fraudsters claimed on the phone that a burglar had been arrested and a notebook was found in his pocket with the senior citizen's name in it.

For this reason they want to warn the woman from Krefeld. At the same time, he asked whether there were any assets left in the apartment.

All the seniors noticed the trick and behaved exactly right: They ended the conversation and immediately called the real police.

If you receive such a call:

  • End the call!
  • Do not provide any information about assets over the phone!
  • Don't arrange meetings! Call the police emergency number 110!
  • Inform your family and friends about the scam!
  • If you are the victim of such a call, be sure to contact the police and file a report.
