Photos of French President Macron are currently circulating on social media, supposedly showing him after a conversation with Vladimir Putin about the invasion of Ukraine.

“The Élysée Palace released pictures of French President Macron after his phone call with Putin today about the invasion of Ukraine,” are the captions of posts showing these photos.
Most of the postings were published on March 8, 2022, so one has to conclude that a conversation between Macron and Putin took place on that day, which probably drained the French president's energy.
There are several postings about this on Twitter ( HERE , HERE and HERE ) from March 8, 2022, including this one:

Visegrád 24 points out the creation of the photos in a reply to this tweet: “UPDATE – These photos were taken by official Macron photographer Soazig de La Moissonnière after a call with Vladimir Putin on February 18th 2022.”
“UPDATE – These photos were taken by “Taken by official Macron photographer Soazig de La Moissonnière after a conversation with Vladimir Putin on February 18, 2022.”

Posts with these photos have also been circulating on Facebook since March 8th (for example HERE and HERE ).
But none of the images were taken after a conversation between Macron and Putin. The photos are from different days before and after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Information about the photos

Photo 1: The photo of Macron standing behind a chair was posted by Soazig de la Moissonnière on Instagram on February 10th.
It was taken on February 9, 2022 and is described as follows: "09/02/2022 - 10 p.m. - Green Salon - end of session and almost end of day."

Photo 2: The photo in which Macron sits in a chair and raises his hand to his eyes or forehead was posted on Instagram on February 19, 2022 by Soazig de la Moissonnière. There are five photos included here, the photo in question is in fourth place. The image description says the following:
“02/18/2022 – 10:49 p.m. (the first photo) – Golden Salon, Elysée Palace – @emmanuelmacron in international conference call.”

Photo 3: The close-up of Emmanuel Macron holding his hands to his face was taken on March 4, 2022. This photo can also be found in a series of images on De la Moissonnière's Instagram account that she posted on March 5th. Here it is the sixth of a total of seven pictures. The caption says the following:
“04/03/2022 – Golden Salon, Élysée Palace – @emmanuelmacron in international discussions”

On March 4th, Macron made phone calls Boris Johnson on the serious situation in Ukraine and with that Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Conversations with Putin

Macron and Putin spoke by phone on February 12th and February 20th . Further discussions took place on February 24th , March 3rd and March 6th .
None of the pictures were taken on these days.
Visegrád 24's statement in a reply to the published tweet that the photos were taken on February 18 after a conversation with Putin is therefore also incorrect.

Conclusion

The pictures come from different days and were all taken by Macron's official photographer Soazig de la Moissonnière.
None of the pictures show Macron after a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The photos were therefore labeled incorrectly.
