A “Fressnapf food sample warning” has been in circulation since 2016, warning of allegedly poisoned food samples in mailboxes.

The rumor is spread again and again on social networks. Fressnapf Switzerland is also currently warning on Facebook that reports of this type are circulating again:

There are currently reports again that potentially poisoned food packages are being sent in the name of Fressnapf. We have no knowledge of this. The report obviously dates back to 2016, when such packages are said to have existed in northern Germany. At that time, Fressnapf Germany immediately filed a complaint against unknown persons and warned its customers to hand over such packages to the branch if in doubt. In addition, Fressnapf Germany has been and is in contact with the German authorities. There is currently no evidence that such packages are in circulation again, not even in Switzerland. If, despite everything, you find a food sample in your mailbox with the sender Fressnapf Switzerland, send this sample to us so that we can take legal action against unknown persons.

Dear animal lovers
, we have learned that an increasing number of packages with food samples are currently being sent by post in northern Germany.
Fressnapf is listed as the sender.

The packages are NOT from Fressnapf and there is no market or other Fressnapf rooms at the address given!

We don't know who these packages are from, but we ask you to be careful as we cannot guarantee that the food may not have been prepared in a way that is harmful to your health.

You are welcome to hand in such packages at the market.

If you have a picky animal, you can contact your market and we will find a sample pack for you that you can feed with peace of mind!

Thank you for your attention

Allegedly were supposed to be circulating in northern Germany, but they did not come from Fressnapf itself.

to anyone at any point , even after Fressnapf requested them

But the warning was picked up by users and websites and diligently distributed:

Fressnapf Germany responds to user inquiries with this press release:

But it only says that they were made aware that there were supposed to be food samples in the HAMBURGER AREA that were sent in the name of Fressnapf. You have now filed a criminal complaint and the Hamburg police are currently investigating the matter.

THERE IS NOT A WORD IN THE PRESS RELEASE THAT THESE FOOD SAMPLES ARE POISONED!

It seems as if a user just forwarded a guess to Fressnapf Solingen Werderstrasse.

This may have been published unchecked. Fressnapf Germany itself reacts with a press release and involves the police. The information from Northern Germany is now spreading to Austria and Switzerland!

Result:

Let's summarize - why, where and why this letter was sent and who sent it is not yet known.

However, the message or warning about these food samples is constantly being spread.

However, there is no evidence that these food samples ever actually existed.
