Cyber criminals have just sent fake emails in the name of the “Federal Tax Center” that look like this:

Direct information from the Federal Tax Center!

Fraudsters are currently again trying to obtain taxpayers’ account and credit card information via email.

They impersonate the “Federal Central Tax Office” via email and claim that the affected citizens are entitled to a tax refund. In order to receive this, a form linked in the email must be filled out.

The Federal Central Tax Office (BZSt) warns against responding to such or similar emails, as requests to apply for tax refunds are not sent by email and account details are never requested in this form.
