Herne  - In the early afternoon hours of February 6th (Monday), a walker called a patrol car crew from the Wanne-Eickel police station to Königsgruber Park.

The woman was there with her dog around 2 p.m. Near the model airfield, the four-legged friend suddenly bit into a piece of liver sausage that was lying on the ground and had three razor blades stuck in it.

POL-BO: Herne / Just early enough! - Razor bladed liver sausage piece removed from dog's mouth

Luckily, the woman from Herne recognized the dangerous situation early enough. She immediately reached into her dog's mouth and removed the blades, which already had blood on them from the injured tongue. The dog owner then went to a vet to rule out more serious injuries.

The police officers deployed on site did not discover any further bait.

The Herner Criminal Police Office 35, which is investigating the matter of “crimes under the Animal Welfare Act”, is asking for information from witnesses on 02323 / 950-8510 or -4441 (criminal station).
