The Gerlingen police station is looking for witnesses and in particular a 10-year-old girl after an incident that occurred on Tuesday around 5:45 p.m. on a U 6 city train that had reached the final stop in Gerlingen.
The child was sitting on the train opposite a 41-year-old man who suffers from autism.
As the girl began to eat something, the 41-year-old suddenly hit her in the face with the palm of his hand.
A witness reported this to the subway driver, who then called the police
However, the child had already gotten out by the time they arrived.
The police have started an investigation into assault and are asking the child's parents to come forward.
