Erfurt – On Saturday, around 3:20 p.m., a caller threatened the state police that he “wanted to paralyze the main train station.”

As part of a search, a federal police patrol checked two 24-year-old Germans who had been noticed near the main train station.
It turned out that at least one of the two had already been arrested for similar crimes. Both people were handed over to the state police, who took over further investigations. If the men actually made the call, they will face criminal charges. In the evening, around 7:20 p.m., the fire alarm went off in Erfurt Central Station.
Initially, unknown perpetrators broke the window of one of the fire alarms in the station and pressed the alarm button. The fire department came to the scene with seven vehicles and 22 comrades. There were also several false alarms in the city area due to misuse of emergency calls.
Further investigations will have to show to what extent these are connected to the alarm in the train station. On Sunday, the fire alarm was triggered again at Erfurt main station.
A fire alarm was activated here at around 3:25 p.m. Because of this, the train station had to be evacuated and cordoned off by the federal police. The Erfurt professional fire department came to the scene with 29 comrades.
Only after it was certain that it was a false alarm was the main station reopened at 3:40 p.m. There was also no train traffic during the closure measures. During the investigation, federal police identified a 16-year-old German as a suspect.
He had also threatened the employee of the toilet facility in the train station, so that the woman locked herself in one of the toilets and called the federal police for help. Due to search measures that were immediately initiated, the 16-year-old was arrested at the train station. It turned out that this was also responsible for the false alarm from the previous day. The federal police have initiated criminal proceedings against the young person for misusing emergency calls.
This can be punished with a prison sentence of up to three years or a fine. The 16-year-old also has to expect claims to be made against him. Those who cause false alarms can incur high costs in compensation for damages. Source: Federal Police Inspectorate Erfurt
