Berlin - Lichtenberg - On the night from Saturday to Sunday, an unknown person attacked a 32-year-old who wanted to help a helpless person on an S-Bahn. The federal police are looking for witnesses.

At around 1:40 a.m., the 32-year-old from Neu-Hohenschönhausen was at Lichtenberg train station with her partner.
When the young woman discovered an apparently helpless person on an S-Bahn line S5 that was ready to leave for Strausberg, she rushed to help and tried to wake the person up. The 32-year-old's partner then pulled the emergency brake on the S-Bahn to enable the person to receive medical care. Other travelers then insulted the two helpers and asked them to simply leave the helpless person lying there. Shortly afterwards, the driver released the emergency brake and went to his cab.
Shortly before the S-Bahn left, a group of four people got on the train and also insulted the 32-year-old. A female from this large group later attacked the 32-year-old and strangled her in the neck. As the two fell to the ground, the attacker continued to kick the 32-year-old.
When her partner tried to help the 32-year-old, a male person in the group of four confronted him. However, the 31-year-old managed to bring the unknown man to the ground. Other travelers then intervened and pushed the two attackers from the group of four people out of the S-Bahn at Friedrichsfelde Ost station. The injured 32-year-old got off the S-Bahn at Biesdorf S-Bahn station with her partner. Rescue workers took the 32-year-old to a hospital for medical treatment.
An immediate search for the suspects was unsuccessful.

The federal police initiated an investigation against unknown persons and are now looking for the two suspects.
Witnesses who can provide relevant information about the crime or the attackers from the group of four are asked to contact the federal police. The Federal Police Inspectorate Berlin-Ostbahnhof will accept information on 030 / 2977790 or any other police station.
