In Los Angeles there is supposedly a Filipino restaurant called “Pugon de Manila Eatery and Fine Dining” that is said to have been granted permission by the court to slaughter dogs for religious reasons and to process them into meals as long as they are humane circumstances would be killed.

Origin and legal situation:

A fake news site called “ The News Nerd ” created the hoax on November 10, 2014 and was happily shared by other fake news sites – to this day.

Such a restaurant doesn't exist in Los Angeles; there is a Pugon de Manila, but in Houston, Texas, and they don't have dog meat on their menu either.

The image used in the hoax post is from the Yulin Dog and Cats Meat Festival in China and shows dead cats displayed on hooks, not dogs.

The fact is that selling or eating meat from animals traditionally kept as pets or companions BANNEDi.e. against the law – .

Although eating dog meat is also considered traditional in some corners of the world, there has been no case in Los Angeles that favored the slaughter of dogs for religious reasons.
