If you order a Christmas present online and are so wrong that you want to return it, you have to pay attention to the deadline: you have 14 days, and the holidays count!

Internet Gifts: Purchased without checking

No matter how hard you try, sometimes the gift for mom, dad or grandma can go wrong - especially if you order online without holding the original in your hands: stupid book, tie way too flashy, sweater too tight small, Bluray has been in the collection for a long time... and then you want to send it back to the dealer and cancel the order. Anyone who here will of course know that you have 14 days to do this. So. But do the holidays count?

Yes, they do! So you can't add that to the two weeks. In principle, the 14-day period usually begins one day after you receive the goods. You have to be quick: even if you only received the package on the 22nd, for example, the deadline would already be January 5th. If you're on a skiing holiday over the New Year, you shouldn't put things off. And anyone who has ordered and received gifts much earlier is taking a risk: when the 14 days are up, the gift should be the right one - or Dad will have to walk around with the flashy tie.

Holidays count

Would you like a little more confusion? Please: Things are a little different if the deadline falls on one of the public holidays. Then you have to submit your declaration of cancellation on the next working day after the holiday. So if you received the goods on December 11th, the 14 days would be over at the end of December 25th. Since both December 25th and 26th are public holidays, you have until December 27th to cancel the contract. If the 27th is a Sunday, even until the 28th.
