In addition, you can read the following on the WBS law firm's YouTube channel: “Anyone who uses the WhatsApp messenger service automatically passes on the phone numbers of all their contacts to the company. But without their consent it is illegal. The Cologne media lawyer Christian Solmecke has long been warning about the risks of the messenger service. The Bad Hersfeld district court has now ordered a mother to provide written consent for every single contact in her son's smartphone address book. Attorney Solmecke explains what the verdict means for all other WhatsApp users.”

The Bad Hersfeld District Court (AG) has now decided for the first time that WhatsApp users are committing a legal violation due to the automatic data transmission. For this reason, the court ordered a mother to provide written consent forms for all contacts stored on her son's smartphone
