Another somewhat more persistent topic that we dealt with here: Facebook is a public institution. – At least that’s what a status post currently circulating in English on Facebook would have us believe.

But this rumor is not only known to us in English. already had this claim on the table in 2017 .

Nevertheless, this “notice” can currently be found on Facebook:

What's behind it?

This text has been on the Internet in both German and English for several years.

So this is not a current text - and therefore no current changes on Facebook.

We still don't know what exactly the text is supposed to say. According to this post, ALL information that has ever been entered into Facebook should be made public - including content that has already been deleted. It's about texts, images and messages.
