Yes, you've read that correctly. I wrote “poop” in the title line. Because that's exactly what the word is about.

Basically, this word didn't come from me, but can be found on a screenshot that can be seen on social media. It reads “24.2 degrees: Are we breaking the February record today?”

Yes, it was quite warm last week. Admittedly, that was pretty good for me personally. A touch of spring. A little warm air. A spark of perspective on the end of winter.

Many people must have felt the same way as me. I haven't seen so many happy faces in the parks in a long time. Happy faces. Yes, the feeling of happiness may have motivated one or two jokers to create the following work.

Because I want to get back to pooping. So to the headline that can be seen in a screenshot. Did an intern make a typo, or are we ultimately just seeing a playful manipulation?

Are we breaking the February record today?
Are we breaking the February record today?

Nothing with “poop”

The nice thing is that we at Mimikama love things like this. Therefore, the work on finding the error was finished quite quickly. First we looked for the origin of the title.

The original headline comes from the Wetter.at website . The article was published on February 24, 2021 and is titled (without error) “SPRING IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER 24.2 degrees: Will we break the February record today?”

In the second step, we take a closer look at the screenshot. And here... well, how should I put it, there are a few graphical inconsistencies. In contrast to all other letters, the K in the word poop has no contour or shadow. The height doesn't quite fit either.

The “K” from the original crack was copied using the move function including the background and moved to the right over the 1st “n”. The real “K” and the background were then removed using the remove function, with the resulting gap being filled with similar background graphics.

Be that as it may: We also have a screenshot of the original. There's nothing to do with poop!
